ReplyDeleteI think here the titles for the musics are different from the actual names of tones e.g. "Altit" mentioned dhani, here is "Nazeem Khan-e Dhani", "Trangpha" is Shah "Gazanfar-e Dhani". I will suggest it would be better to consult any professionals about the actual names of these historically recorded traditional musics here. And it would be much more better if the historic significance of these different tones would also be discussed here e.g. one of dhani is having songs "mamu tham diya nusen Khabaran dayala ke..." many anthropologic and historic questions arises here, as like in this example the question is, who was awaited mamu tham? and many more.

Yes in this particular post "Precedences to the villages (Trangfa or Akaabir) on the occasion of NAwruz" has been covered rather than the traditional assignment of the tune itself In due course the actual assignments to Individuals or families will be covered on the basis of feed back and further research. To my understanding the Dhani is a dancing tune which is named after one who prefers to dance on the tune. Some people buy the Dhani and name after their family. (85 is the example in Hunza)
ReplyDeleteApart from Dhani there is Bakshowar/ (Announcement tune) Chshtiwar (Arrival or victory tune) Punawar / Galawar (Welcome tune). All these tunes are specific to different dynasties and rulers. In Ghizer there is still Galawar of Ali Sher Khan Anchan named after his rule. The famous Nagar Showaran and so many other signature tunes are there but people who could identify are very few and non existent. Even people playing these tune do not know the names.
